Inspired by the microscopic photographs I took of Golden Eye lichens at the University of Manitoba’s Herbarium workshop in 2023, I have continued my exploration of movement and growth in this sculptural series. Each lichen is individually sculpted and attached to the tile one at a time, often layered on top of each other. For added height some have been attached with high temperature wire. This wall tile has a built in mechanism with steel wire attachment, so it is ready to hang in your home.
